Claude Code 2.1.247 Ships a SendFeedback Tool and a Cost-Optimize Command

2026-08-27 ยท source:

Claude Code 2.1.247 adds a SendFeedback tool that drafts a feedback report for the user to review after something goes wrong, plus a /claude-api cost-optimize command to profile API spend.

What it is

A Claude Code release that introduces a `SendFeedback` tool and a `/claude-api cost-optimize` subcommand, along with customizable spinner tips and a one-keystroke prompt to switch into auto mode from a Bash permission dialog.

What it does

When something goes wrong mid-session, Claude can now draft a feedback report for the user to review and send via `/feedback` (toggleable with the `feedbackDrafts` setting), and `/claude-api cost-optimize` profiles an existing project's Claude API spending. It also lets organizations rotate custom tips shown at Bash permission prompts, including one that offers a one-keystroke switch to auto mode.

Why it matters

Turning failure moments into an editable bug report closes the loop between users hitting problems and Anthropic hearing about them, without requiring anyone to manually reconstruct what happened.

How to use it

Feedback drafts appear automatically after a problematic session; review and send with `/feedback`, or disable via the `feedbackDrafts` setting. Run `/claude-api cost-optimize` inside a project to get a spend profile.
